Water Aerobics
This class includes a large combination of exercises designed
to improve muscular fitness, cardiovascular fitness, flexibility,
balance, and overall coordination. This
is a fun class, safe for participants suffering from balance
complications or joint sensitivity. So "suit up" and
come on in…the water's fine!
Staying Strong
If you like strength and condition-type workouts, this
is the class for you. We focus on three aspects of fitness
during this class. The first part of the class, we
use the dumbbells or resistance bands to improve strength,
then we do balance exercises and finish up stretching exercises
to improve flexibility.
Ai Chi
Ai Chi is a form of Tai Chi that is practiced in the
water. Ai Chi is a simple water exercise and relaxation program
that combines breathing and continual movement while promoting
balance, harmony, and healing.
Step & Sculpt
This class is designed for the serious exerciser! This
class is fast-paced and performed at a moderate to high
intensity level. We alternate the use of the steps but
we always get a good cardiovascular workout! In addition,
this class also focuses on free weight exercises as well
as stretching.
Better Balance
As it's name suggests, this class is designed to improve
balance. There is a large variety of balance exercises
that can be performed in a group setting, and this
class will offer as many as possible! We'll use the hand
rails for standing exercises and the chairs for functional
exercises.
Afternoon Stretch
The main purpose of this class is to improve flexibility
and range of motion. Stretches will be taught in a way
that allows each person to exercise at his/her own fitness
level. Flexibility is easily improved with minor physical
exertion. Try it, you might just find that this
type of exercise is relaxing and good for you, too!
Sit & Fit
As the name might suggest, this type of exercise is done
sitting down! If you have joint pain or difficulty standing
for prolonged periods of time but still want an
excellent workout, try this class! We do mild to moderate
levels of cardiovascular exercise as well as free weight
and flexibility exercises.
Menu Education
These classes are designed to give you helpful information
and nutritional tips that will aid you in planning your
meals. The dining room menu for the following week
is given out and discussed in hopes that you will make
healthier food choices.
